Dissolution REVIEWS:

Goldby

Well this is an interesting episode, it's probably the most dramatic episode of Spaced, the joke quotient is down a lot and it's more cringe worthy and uncomfortable in terms of the plot. Making it the closest in feeling to The Office which is interesting as even Ricky Gervais has a small cameo and the first series of The Office was going out the same year, he had yet to find fame.

But still the episode is packed with tension as basically it's about the group falling apart mostly because of Tim's new relationship with Sophie. Daisy is jealous of Sophie, and Mike thinks he's been shoved to one side because of Sophie too. Love the exchange between him and Tim -

Tim: Bitter Mike?

Mike: No are you?

Tim: Do you want a pint of bitter Mike?

Unfortunately it's Tim's roving tongue on Sophie that leads to Marsha finding out about his secret girlfriend and threatening to spill the beans to his fake girlfriend Daisy. Tim's either too thick or wrapped up in Sophie to notice until it's too late, and who wouldn't want to be wrapped up by Lucy Ackhurst in some nice greased up gift wrap?

Still it does have it's comic asides the montage of Mike reminding Tim to forget about his promotion ceremony....the Bugsy Malone and Omen film homages and of course the ultimate:-the homage to the end of The Empire Strikes Back!

It's the end of Act 2 for Spaced where traditionally all the characters are in their Darkest hour and now all could be kicked out as Marsha knows that Tim and Daisy were never a couple *SPOILER ALERT* Can you say that after the spoiler?????

Wellllllllllllllllllll hard to mark but give it a 6/10, not one you want to re-visit too many times. Was nice to see one of the characters (Daisy) celebrate their birthday.

Favourite Bits:

Mike's chewbacca impersonation plus Tim and Daisy standing at the window ala Luke and Leia in Empire

Twist FINALLY getting told to shut up with cake!
