New Girl REVIEWS:

Goldby

Life,oh life oh liiiiiiiffffee...brays the drunken David Brent as Tim escorts him home. They do so well re-creating real life situations for the Office, sometimes too well that it becomes painful to watch. The cringeing is back full force there are some parts you want to look away...especially in the nightclub scenes.

This episode focuses on the different ways each of the resident staff relate to the opposite sex. Brent's prudishness, sexism and inability to communicate with women comes to the fore as shown in his biased interview hiring his new female secretary Karen Roper. His so inappropriate hitting on Karen blatantly is pure gold as is his drunken rant at at woman who turns down his advances in a nightclub, such a horrid individual!

There's Donna revealing she's shagging someone in the office and unsurprisingly it's Ricky, much to the annoyance of smooth talking ladies man Chris Finch who still "scores" himself and brags about his threesomes. There's Gareth's clumsy approach trying to woo Donna AND disprove her choices of men at the same time.

As for threesome's Gareth picks up...I mean GARETH picks up what turns out to be a married woman who wants Gareth in a threesome with her husband and despite refusing he's later shown leaving with the couple.

While good 'ol Tim watches Brent and co.'s drunken and oafish behavior from a good distance and his is the most poignant tale as he wanting to leave the office and trying to avoid Dawn before he does so to ease the embarrassment of being rejected by her in front of everyone.

The BEST new part about The New Girl has to be big Keith's deadpan chat to Tim in the lunch room there just has to be more of this guy and there will be...

6/10

....only because I personally squirm from the reminder of those nights out with office staff at second rate nightclubs. Yeah I was in the 'Tim' role too.

Favourite bits:

Keith's peak practice chat with Tim and Brent interviewing his secretary candidates.

Most Cringe worthy:

Brent's drunken insults to the woman he admits to trying to pick up in Chasers.
